The “Punat Sea Art” artist colony will take place in Punat from September 20 to 27, 2026. This project by the Punat Municipality Tourist Board aims to enrich public spaces through artistic interventions while further promoting the town’s cultural and tourism value.

This year’s colony bears the working title “Bita” (Bollard), inspired by traditional stone bollards—elements that have been an integral part of coastal waterfronts for centuries, serving to moor ships. Through artistic interpretation, participants will highlight their historical and aesthetic significance and present them in a new context.

The artworks will be created primarily from stone and installed on Punat’s main waterfront, *Punćale*—a bustling location frequented by numerous visitors daily. This new artistic intervention will thus become part of Punat’s urban landscape and serve as an attractive photo spot.

Part of the program will also focus on ceramics, involving an intervention on a sculpture dedicated to the 45th parallel north.

The colony’s lead mentor is Professor Boris Roce, while the stone workshop will be led this year by Professor Luka Petrinjak from the Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka (APURI). Between eight and ten visiting students, accompanied by professors, will participate in the colony.
