Trail running enthusiasts are in for a real treat – the 16th edition of Krk’n’Trail, Croatia’s first trail race, and a legendary race of the Treking League, returns this year with one of the most exciting sporting challenges in the Baška Outdoor Festival programme.

Krk’n’Trail is the kind of race where everyone comes together – from experienced trail runners and serious athletes to recreational runners, groups of friends and those who simply want to find out if they can go a little farther than they thought. That is exactly why the race attracts a large number of participants year after year, turning Baška into a true trail-running hub. Start, course, finish line – running, cheering, encouragement and socialising are everywhere. The energy that fills Baška on race day is hard to describe – you simply have to experience it.

The routes cross the rocky western ridge of the Baška Valley, taking runners through karst landscapes, dry-stone walls and old shepherds’ paths. Rocks underfoot, the sea beside you and views that get better the farther you move away from Baška. The longest route stretches all the way to Stara Baška.

And when you turn back towards the finish line – Baška is right there in the palm of your hand. A panoramic view to remember. And a photo you will almost certainly post on Instagram.

Three distances, three levels of challenge and plenty of reasons for everyone to find their own route – whether you want to complete your first trail race, beat your personal record or simply enjoy one of the most spectacular parts of the island of Krk.

But Krk’n’Trail has never been just a race.

It is the day when Baška fills with runners, supporters, teams and friends. The day when, after the final kilometre, everyone meets again at the finish line, and the sporting challenge quickly turns into what Krk’n’Trail is also famous for – socialising, music, a great atmosphere and plenty of fun.

The sporting side of Krk’n’Trail is organised by the Treking League, a team that has spent years building one of Croatia’s most recognisable trail and trekking stories. As part of the Baška Outdoor Festival, this sporting challenge comes together with Baška’s unique landscape, festival atmosphere and a variety of activities that turn the entire weekend into much more than just a race.

Because people come to Krk’n’Trail to run.

But they stay for everything that comes after the finish line.
