Passed down through generations, this custom reflects a way of life shaped for centuries by sheep farming and the natural rhythms of the island of Krk, preserving the identity and spirit of community among its people.
This year’s edition of the Cheese Festival offers a rich and diverse programme: a local produce fair, expert panels, workshops for children and adults, guided heritage tours, family-friendly activities, and vibrant evening concerts — a true opportunity to experience the authentic rhythm of tradition.

• 12:00 – Presentation of partner regions from the SreST project (Ivan Klobučarić Square)
• 14:00 – Panel discussion on livestock farming and gastronomy on the island of Krk (DUBoak)
Thursday, May 29
• 17:00 – Blessing of cheese and wine, the traditional “teć za sir” race, and folk performances (St. Apollinaris Church, Bogovići)
• 20:00 – Cheese feast and concert: Mih & Me + Vrujaž (Ivan Klobučarić Square)
Friday & Saturday, May 30–31
• Local produce market, wool workshops, children’s activities, and heritage tours
• Evening concerts featuring: Klapa Intriga, Kantridersi, and Belfast Food
