Porcijunkula: Blessing of the Boats, Sunday 2.8., 5 p.m., Maritime Heritage Interpretation Centre DUBoak – Malinska, Obala 21b

On the feast day of Our Lady of the Angels – Portiuncula, owners of boats and ships from Krk, Cres and Lošinj have been sailing to Glavotok, a Franciscan Glagolitic monastery from the 15th century for centuries to receive a blessing for their vessels and crew.

In the desire to revitalize this tradition and further promote it as an integral part of the local maritime heritage, once again DUBoak – the interpretation center of maritime heritage, organizes a special program intended for all lovers of the sea and boats.

Program:

5:00 PM – gathering at Novi mul (“New Pier” in front of DUBoak) and send-off of the boats

5:15 PM – panoramic ride to Glavotok with a tourist guide

6:00 PM – arrival on Glavotok, holy mass and blessing of the boats

8:00 PM – departure to Malinska and tasting of the local delicacies

8:45 PM – welcoming of the boats in Malinska and guided tour of Maritime Heritage Interpretation Centre DUBoak

8:30–11:30 PM – wine-gastronomic and entertainment program on the Ivan Klobučarić square in front of DUBoak

In the port, visitors will be able to view traditional boats and ships, of which a special place is occupied by the sailing ship and Open-air Museum “Nerezinac” lugger from Lošinj.

Ticket price for the boat: €30 single, €50 for two people.

The price includes: ticket for the tourist boat, ticket to the interpretation center DUBoak, tourist guide, tasting plate, a glass of local wine.
