The exhibition space at Placa Njivice will host “My Sea / Moje more”, an exhibition by Iva Jurjević Prodan (BODULKA DESIGN).

The exhibition presents a retrospective of the artist’s work, inspired by the sea, tradition and the heritage of her childhood. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover unique pieces that convey the spirit of Kvarner and the island of Krk through maritime motifs and seafaring heritage.

We invite all art lovers and visitors to Njivice to experience the beauty of the sea through the distinctive artistic expression of Iva Jurjević Prodan.

Born and raised on the island of Krk, Iva Jurjević Prodan is a creative artist who, through her brand BODULKA DESIGN, successfully blends tradition with contemporary interior design. Her deep connection with the sea dates back to her childhood in one of the first houses in Njivice, then a small fishing village, where the sight of boats and the scent of salt shaped both her life and artistic journey. Her work is distinguished by unique three-dimensional relief paintings and sculptures that preserve the stories of our maritime heritage. Her creations are permanently exhibited in her own gallery in Njivice, a place that has become a must-visit destination for admirers of authentic island art.

The hallmark of her artistic expression is her innovative use of palm wood. By exploiting its distinctive textures and fibres, Iva creates traditional Adriatic boats such as the pasara and gajeta, often combining them with ropes and fishing nets. Rather than using a conventional canvas, she focuses on relief, allowing the rough texture of the wood and refined aesthetic details to evoke the sea and its saltiness so vividly that they can almost be felt by hand.

Inspired and encouraged by the local association Women for the Island (Žene za otok), she embarked on her professional artistic path and developed her independent career and recognizable brand. This solo exhibition in Njivice, located just above the Tourist Board offices, offers an overview of her work to date and serves as a tribute to the sea, tradition and the heritage of our childhood.
