Not the postcard kind, but the real one: full of misunderstandings, glances across the table, and conversations that often make no sense at all – but always come from the heart.

Baška and the sea will set the stage for characters who love, argue, cook gregada, philosophize on the edge of a stone wall, and sometimes just sit quietly together.

Academic painter Mirna Sišul, who’s been colouring the world – and life – with her expressive hues for over 25 years, captures human connection in this series of paintings and drawings: the looks, thoughts and conversations we all recognize. Each piece features a fragment of dialogue – lines that are at once personal and universal, tender and comical.

We invite you to step into this vibrant world of intimacy, to recognize yourself or someone you love – and to smile.
